Abdul Razak jewellery started in the year 1940 in a small space of 25 square foot at No 61 Leboh Ampang at the rent of RM5.00 per month right after the 2nd world war. Founder S.M.Abdul Razak Syed Usman was the first senior jeweler in Ampang Street (now known as Leboh Ampang). He was not only a jeweler but also a goldsmith specialised on crafting jewellery in the past 19th century.

S.M.Abdul Razak arrived with four of his friends in the year 1937 in steamer called Rajulla to Penang and from there he settles in Kuala Lumpur at Leboh Ampang. Tuan S.M. Abdul Razak continue his carrier and became a well-known jeweler famously knows as Abdul Razak Jewellers in Leboh Ampang until today.

S.M. Abdul Razak succeeded with four sons in this industry being a famous jeweler in the past years. In the year 1970, he continued his business with four sons and grew up establishing a jewellery store also a multistory building called Bangunan Abdul Razak in Leboh Ampang. In the year 1990, Tuan S.M Abdul Razak was awarded by Sultan of Selangor as AMN as a recognition as the senior man by the Kuala Lumpur Indian Chambers of Commerce and also the treasurer of Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur. He also contributed his time in the holly way by opening up some Madrasah in Batu Caves. S.M. Abdul Razak continued the business with his sons by opening six different outlets in varies places in Kuala Lumpur. In 2001, he demised and the family has continued the business under the name of Abdul Razak Jewellers.
